Our Proactive Maintenance Plan Has Evolved

Since 2006, we have been providing professional and efficient IT service to our clients throughout the metro Detroit area, and beyond. We’re excited to announce a major change to our service offering, namely that we have completely reformulated our Proactive Maintenance Plan!

We now offer a flat-rate, proactive service that we’re calling Total Technology Confidence. If you are interested in a more proactive approach –vs– a reactive approach to supporting your IT infrastructure, or if you simply don’t like the idea of being billed by the hour for service, let us know and we’ll be happy to provide you with more information.

Windows 7 End-of-Life/End-of-Support

For the past several months, the Team at Concise has been especially busy assisting clients with the migration off of Windows 7, which is reaching end of life on January 14, 2020.
What does end of support mean? When Windows 7 reaches end of support, your computer will still function but Microsoft will no longer provide the following:

  • Technical support for any issues
  • Software updates
  • Security updates or fixes
While you could continue to use your PC running Windows 7, without continued software and security updates, it will be at a much greater risk for viruses and malware (this point cannot be stressed enough). Going forward, the best way for you to stay secure is to have the latest operating system: Windows 10. Please let us know if you are still using Windows 7, and we will be happy to assist you with an upgrade to Windows 10, or with replacing older equipment if necessary.

Cyberoam Firewalls – Security Issue

Concise has notified all clients that have a Cyberoam Firewall in place that there is a security flaw which can be remediated with an upgrade to the device’s firmware. Since Cyberoam was acquired by Sophos, our ability to receive support from the company has severely diminished, so many clients have opted instead to replace the firewall completely.

If you still have a Cyberoam firewall in production, please contact us as soon as possible so that we can ensure you are protected from the latest vulnerability. Firmware v12 is no longer being supported and has a presents a major security risk for your company.

Our Newest Team Members

Thank you for allowing us to grow with you for the past many years. When Jeff started Concise 14 years ago, he never anticipated that we would grow from a team of 1 to a team of 10! Although they have been with us for over a year now, we’ve been a bit slow to send out newsletters, so we wanted to introduce you to our newest team members: Brittany, Nick, and Emily!

Brittany and Nick are technicians, and Emily works with Chelsea as a receptionist and office administrator. They have already integrated well into our team, and we look forward to having you meet them if you haven’t already.

The Tech Bench of Birmingham

We’re pleased to announce that Concise has embarked upon a strategic partnership with the Tech Bench of Birmingham. The Tech Bench, located at 33273 Woodward Avenue, provides PC, Laptop, Tablet, and SmartPhone repairs and has been in business for well over 10 years. As we continue to grow, we’ll be referring our clients to the Tech Bench if they have specific types of problems that we feel would be better suited for the team at the Tech Bench to handle.

Last but not Least

If you’ve made it this far, thank you not only for reading our newsletter, but also a sincere thanks for your support and patronage throughout the years!

Most Sincerely,
Team Concise

(Mike, Jeff, Chelsea, Dan, Dave, Spyros, Brian, Brittany, Emily, Nick, Adam)
Can you believe the last newsletter we sent was in July of 2015? Time flies when you’re having fun!
